Right around the corner from our beautiful creative co-working studio Friends, we find an unassuming but delightful and renowned bakery called Bien Cuit. Run by husband and wife duo Zach and Kate, alongside a small but mighty team, this neighborhood bakery and coffee shop has a foot print that reaches far beyond Boerum Hill or New York City. In their best-selling book Bien Cuit: The Art of Bread, Zach shares "insider secrets to making delicious, artisanal bread".
We recently entered into a 6 month collaboration that will involve telling many stories. We will capture the full process from farms to mills to the customers at the bakery. We started the process by photographing their beautiful new fall menu items, as well as a series of portraits of the team. These are a few examples from last week, with many more to come.
